“Gameplan” Volume 2, December 2007

Dear Friends and Fans,

Hello again and Happy Holidays. A special welcome goes out to those of you joining us for the first
‘Gameplan’ this month. If you’d like to see the issues you’ve missed, they’re
archived on the website.
Speaking of the website, it’s my first topic: go there. It’s been totally redone from the navigation bar up.
You won’t recognize it. We’ve got new artists and pictures, new character pages, previews of the upcoming
Cubs’ Quest episodes, and new projects.
One of the new projects you’ll notice is the Circle of Life Webcomic project. I’d like to turn most of our
attention to getting this started. If the project outlined at
colwebcom.html is something anyone out there
might be interested in, let me know so we can start blocking out comic panels, sketching, inking, and a
little further down the road, voice recording and animating. Also, now that skysoldja.com is sufficiently
updated, I’ll be turning to the “Circle of Life, Inc.” artist account on the fanart Archive. Once that’s up to
speed, we’ll post the official invitation to the 6,000+ artists via Brian’s administrator’s message, which will
take them to our official welcome page at
wanted.html. I’d love to hear back on what you all think of this
particular page, since it’s the first thing the flood of artists will see.
Please write me back with any thoughts you’d like to share. Next issue I’ll mention a few other projects that
we (Elijah Knuckles and I, in particular) have in the planning stages. While these projects are not Lion
King, a couple of them are fanfics of other popular sagas, and one is completely original. I realize this
would take some extra confidence on everyone’s part, since we’ll be looking to establish a new fan base all
our own, not just make use of an existing one. These other projects will probably involve webcomics at
some point. I’m especially interested in hearing from the aspiring amateur, semi-pro and freelance artists
out there, as this could be a real opportunity for us to expand our portfolios and even (in the case of the
original project) make a little spending money. Wonder of wonders, yes?

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Which, considering I’ll be spending the holidays in Texas, Florida and
Georgia, is probably wishful thinking. Oh, well, Happy Holidays anyway. God bless and Godspeed.
