Name:              Zoay
DOB:                1 year after the Riverside Battle at the end of Simba’s Pride
Pride:               Izusa Escarpment
Tribe:               Izusan Lions

Family Background:
Born to her father K'Tia and her mother Camiil just before her mother's death and her father's exile. Zoay was born with
pure white fur, which is supposed to be impossible because neither of her parents was their generation's marked
Destined One. Though Zoay is expected to receive the Mark as she gets older, it never appears. Grows up as her
people's queen, for the most part far from Jothra.

Color Scheme
Base Color:                                             White
Light zones (toe tips, underbelly etc):     Metallic white (silver-like)
Dark zones (over eyes, inner ears):        White with just a little pink
Eye Irises:                                                Pink, albino-style

Other:
Zoay had wings in the previous version of the story, though those have been deleted, along with the Dotty-like spots
under her left eye, reminiscent of the Mark of the Destined One. She's still solid albino white with reflective silvered light
zones and pink irises.
CJ Webster:
This is the only sketch I've done of Zoay, and the first sketch I did of any of my characters. Strangely
enough, I'd like artists to pay attention to the character's eyebrows here more than anything else. I like
'em. Just go with it.
Astrocat:
Astrocat's renditions are in her own unique, superb style. Even though Zoay no longer has wings,
observe how Astrocat made them silvery and metallic, along with the other light zones. This is how I'd like
Zoay's toe tips, snout, underbelly, under eye and tail tuft to look. Also great pink irises and inner ears.
Zomielove:
Abbie Sunter, aka Zomielove (formerly aka Alior Eilear) experiments for us with spots and no spots, whisker
and no whiskers, smiling and frowning, as well as demonstrating superb eye-work in both the eyelash and
iris.
Koudowaia Vortex:
Lots of the lions (I'm referring here to Pridelanders) have a pink nose, but with Zoay we have the chance to
coordinate this with iris and inner ear for a very dramatic looking face, which KoudoKL captures quite well
here. She also shows us a slightly different facial shape.
Tallon:
Zoay's pose here can as easily be applied to pouncing or running as flying. Tallon demonstrates a very
soft but still evident transition from main color to lighter zones that will be very important to keep in mind
for Zoay, since we're going between two shades of white.
Va-Kasi:
As the first picture ever done for me, Va-Kasi did this piece long before we had discussed eye or ear
color let alone spots under the eye. Along with their amazing skill and style, something else we'll all miss
about these two artists is their captivating, almost ethereal backgrounds.
Jhale:
Jhale simultaneously adopts a more subtle pink inner ear and a much less subtle eye, making the pupil a
darker pink instead of black. She also gives us an example of a somewhat sharper outline between the
main color and the lighter zones.
Efi Wild:
Here at Efi's drawing board, Alejandra gives us the 'look' of an Izusa lioness and Zoay specifically: not
Pridelander and not Outlander. With shapes that are both gracefully flowing and real-looking in space,
she is distinct and distinctly feminine. Of the color tests, the final one is most official.
Nikita Moonlight:
Here Nikita Moonlight captures a rather rare moment for the adult Zoay, one of pure joy and
contentment. Although Zoay no longer has spots under her eye, this piece is a good example of our
heroine's less serious side.
Tipu:
Among all the many things that are awesome about Timali's piece here is the expression, perfectly
capturing the bravery in the midst of fear in this scene. Check out the full-size piece in Timali's gallery.
